Serendipity

While looking around for a place to eat dinner, we had stumbled upon Serendipity, which is famous in New York City for its frozen hot chocolate. Apparently, Serendipity is new to Las Vegas. And I told Jose that I'd like to go there for dessert as an early birthday celebration and that he could then skip on the cake--but not the presents--when we got home.

He agreed and after dinner we settled in to what would become nearly an hour wait to get inside! Here's Clark using the beeper thing as a drum. Dum Ditty Dum Ditty Dum Dum Dum. Thank you Dr. Suess, for entertaining my child's imagination!

Here's Jose, grinning and bearing the long wait. After we finally got inside, we waited another half hour before our yummies came out. I had to ask someone to remember our order, which had been forgotten. So, the service left much to be desired.

But..... The dessert was amazing! And HUGE! Had I known that I wouldn't be able to eat even a fraction of my ice cream sundae with deep-fried oreos--yes, you heard me--I probably would have ordered something without ice cream that I could take home with me and finish later. Or maybe not! My sundae was DIVINE! On many levels! And oh, so fun to eat! But still I was so sad to not get to take my leftovers home with me.

Which is what we did with this monster piece of raspberry drizzled cheesecake that Jose ordered. It was a mountain! A delicious, beautiful mountain. Even for the next several days and after a long trip home in the car.

Mostly, it was just fun to watch each other eat these super fun desserts. Clark was hilarious and his bites kept getting bigger and bigger. The waiting was all but forgotten in the fun.
