Freedom Festival

Clark and I had a date last night. Jose had to work late since it's about 120 degrees around here, but we didn't want to miss the Mesa Freedom Festival. Clark is a big fan of the bounce house slides. Me? Not so much. Not at least, when he goes down freaking head first. Little turkey got in trouble for that trick.

When we went to the festival last year, Clark putted a hole in one, so I was eager to see what he could do this year. My kid does not disappoint. He popped a balloon with a dart. As in, he threw the dart at the balloon, and actually popped it. I couldn't do that if you paid me a million dollars. Seriously. I can't believe I didn't get it on film. You are just gonna have to believe me when I say that my kid is a WINNER.

And we are definitely making progress in the withstand-the-noise-of-the-incredibly-loud-firework-display department. This year, Clark didn't cry and scream and freak out. Hooray! He still covered his ears and asked to leave early, which we did. I didn't feel like making him suffer. Especially since he was trying so hard to keep it together. So I snapped a not-super picture of the fireworks as we were leaving, and then my boy fell asleep on the way home. All in all, a fun night.
