4th of July

We spent the 4th of July with the Kings and we had a great time. We lit off fireworks and the kids swam in the kiddie pool and we ate yummy food and had smores. The sparklers were a big hit with the kids, who had never been able to do them before Arizona legalized fireworks this year! Yippee! Although Clark covered his ears the whole time, he really loved the fireworks. He kept jumping up and down, excitement bursting in his veins.
















We headed to the movies and saw Cars 2 after the sidewalk fireworks extravaganza. I swear he loved it. But after it was over, Clark freaked out and wanted out of the theater, NOW. He has a new phobia about being locked in after places close. He is always begging me to leave wherever we are "before we get locked up all night." Even in the middle of the day. It's kind of annoying, and I'm trying to figure out ways of pacifying him without complying to his irrational fears. So I've taught him about Exit signs and how we can always find the way out. Let me know if anything else comes to mind here. I'd love to hear any and all ideas on this one!
