MEXICO: The Tractor

On Sunday, we took off for Tulancingo, where Jose was born. We spent some time with his grandma and aunt that evening. Then on Monday, we drove up to the ranch where Jose's dad was born and grew up, and where he still works today.

Clark loves the tractor. He would have stayed up there on the tractor the entire day if we had let him. He also loved playing with the umbrella "bella" that I was supposed to be using to protect myself from getting more lobsterlike than I already was. It didn't work. I got more toasty.

Jose told me that in the old days, families would take pictures in front of their tractors because they didn't have anything else valuable. Their tractor (or plow) was their livlihood and they were proud to work the land.
