Father's Day

I just love that I get to use this same gift bag every year. It's kinda like Christmas pictures of my Grandma Lona. You're never sure which year it is because her robe is always the same. She has even been known to hold up a sign with "1998" or "2001" on it, or whatever year it happens to be. Well, this is Father's Day, 2010. Maybe I'll use different colors of tissue paper to help me distinguish the gift wrap from year to year. Maybe not.

It doesn't help that Jose's tshirt is the same too. Clark made it for Jose when he was one and now he's three. I'm guessing Jose will keep wearing the shirt, year after year. Anyway, back to the festivities.

Jose got lots of presents. I'm a present kinda girl. And I was oh-so-lucky to find this official FIFA tshirt on sale! He was very happy with it. We spent many early mornings and late afternoons watching the World Cup this year. It was fun. No really! I actually liked it!

Jose requested a pink shirt and tie this year. So, he got those too. And a book about Porter Rockwell, with a scary likeness of him on the front. Porter Rockwell, not Jose. Looks like a wild mountain man. Oh, he was a scary wild mountain man? Oh. Okay.

I just love this picture. Clark gives really sweet kisses. Melt your heart kisses. And then you give him kisses and he wipes them off. And laughs. Stinker.

I mentioned this already on the blog, but it is worth repeating that I made these amazingly scrumptious apple cinnamon muffins with crumb topping for breakfast. They were divine.

Clark had a pink tie for church, too. I got a sweet deal on much needed church clothes for him while I was Father's Day shopping. It was a win, win! And the post-church all-dressed-up photo shoot was pretty fun.

Not. The little turkey will not pose for photographs. Will not look at the camera. Will not smile at the camera. Even a fake smile would be better than the squirming that ensues each time we say "Cheeeeeese" at our house.

See? The flailing begins. Now he's just messing with us.

Okay, but I have to say that I love Clark's primary teacher. Because she came up with the most brilliant, hilariously funny Father's Day gift from the little Sunbeams.

Just click on the picture to see a larger version and read Clark's answers to all her questions about his daddy. Oh man. This had me rolling. Especially the extra quote she wrote in at the top of the page, "My dad is in trouble. He's being a stinker."
Also, please notice that Clark is wearing a skunk tshirt. Oh the irony.

Hi Kimmie,
I love reading your blog, I'm just always too lazy to leave a comment. Just can't get enough of that cute boy!

I love that according to CLark Jose looks like a train. Such cute pictures. The best part is that when Clark is older he'll probably be like "Mom, why don't you have pictures of me smiling at the camera?" Oh that stinker, he's adorable though!
