Christmas Decorations

My dad brought these gorgeous tulips for my mom on Christmas Eve. Tulips are my mom's favorites, besides daisies (right Mom?) and these were so beautiful. I've never seen tulips for Christmas. They took my breath away.

This is my mom's hutch in the dining room. Okay, so it's not that Christmasy, but it kind of is at the same time. I love the glass in the doors. It's full of tiny air bubbles and amazing angles... the way the light plays on these doors had me mesmerized for almost an hour with my camera lens.

A room with a view. That's what Mom and Dad told us when they first moved into their apartment almost 8 years ago. Their apartment sits, in fact, right on the Rhein River...and there is absolutely nothing to obstruct their magnificent view. Someone docks a couple of boats right beneath the living room window year round. It's like a fairytale. A magic fairytale.

Closeups of the tree. Yes. The Christmas tree. Was. Amazing. Jenni decorated it. I'm telling you. She is a master. And, The Elf on the Shelf was my gift to my mom this year. I sent it early, so she could read the story to the grandkids and hide the elf each day that we were there. Super cute. And the kids love it. It was such a beautiful, grand time.
