The first weekend in October, we took a trip to Utah. We wanted to go up before the end of the year, but didn't want to have to deal with the snow. We debated about going for Clark's birthday, but settled on going for my brother Jake's birthday (October 2nd) and for
General Conference. It was a great opportunity for our niece, Ariadna, who now lives with us, to see the sights and to get to go to the Conference Center to see conference in person. It's like a Mormon version of Mecca. Sort of. It's a big deal. Anyway, before the spiritual feast, we drove up through Nevada so that Ari could see the sights of Las Vegas. Yes, the irony of that sentence makes me cringe. She loved it, of course. But I secretly hoped she'd love conference more.
