Rectangle

During lunch today, I asked Clark if he wanted some more cheese. He said, "Yeah," and nodded. So, I cut him off another piece and he took it and said, "Rectangle!" I was pretty excited. It's the first time that he has identified a shape out of context.

It's just so exciting. Every little thing he learns. Everytime he just knows something that he didn't know yesterday. I figured I should update the blog with some of the stuff that Clark now knows.

Clark can identify most shapes while he sorts them into his Tupperware shape ball. He can count to ten. He can sing several songs all by himself and he loves to sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Jingle Bell Rock. He can throw overhand and he can jump with both feet and he kicks on the run. Soccer player in the making? Clark has also been learning about sharing, and even shared a few fruit snacks, a coveted treat, with me today.

Clark can now fill up a cup from the faucet in the bathtub and pour the water over his head, which he thinks is really funny. He can use both a spoon and a fork and does, for about half of each meal and then resorts to fingers. He can wipe his face and hands with a napkin, and requests one frequently--this kid doesn't like dirty hands at the dinner table. He has memorized the words to a couple of books, including Dumpy the Dumptruck, and can "read" them by himself.

Clark is compassionate and asks me whats wrong when he bonks me in the nose accidentally with his noggin. He is always very excited to see his friends and now goes to nursery willingly! Clark also sleeps much better now and takes wonderful naps without much fuss. He even warms up to the babysitters after only a few minutes of "transition time." He's just getting to be such a big boy. I love him so.

What a cutie patootie! Clark looked so adorable at church yesterday. I especially love his spikey hair. He looked like he could be in a Gap commercial or something. He sure is growing up fast!
