Road Trip!

Jose, Clark and I drove to Utah and Boise, starting September 28th and coming home October 4th. The driving part was not our favorite, but we loved the beautiful scenery and wonderful family and friends!

A main purpuse of the trip was to meet our new baby niece, Anna Lynn. My brother, Jake, gave her a beautiful blessing on Sunday, September 30th. We were so happy to be there! And she's perfect...not a peep from her the whole time we were there! A tiny angel from heaven.

Aunt Bonnie had a shindig that evening and we all had a marvelous time. Clark especially liked the lasagne. I loved seeing my boys in stripes, walking up the sidewalk to Bonnie's house.

Mom and Dad were there, as were about 50 others of the Bushman clan. We had tons of great food and great company. It was worth the drive.
Of course, Clark hasn't exactly warmed up to the grandparents yet, but hopefully he'll stop arching his back within the next couple months anytime anyone else besides his parents wants to hold him.
Ha! I caught a picture of Grandma Lona! She was laughing and telling me not to take her picture. Well, too bad.

We left Salt Lake on Monday, October 1st, and drove to Boise to visit with Grandma Daisy. I just wished we could've stayed longer. We only spent a few precious hours with her, but loved every second. It was the first time Jose and Clark had met her. She told us that Jose reminded her of Granddad, and that it looks like Clark is built like he was, too.
Clark loved playing with Grandma Daisy's little poodle, Boo. They really played together. Clark would throw the ball, and Boo would run after it. Clark also liked Boo's tags...Clark loves any kind of tag...clothes shopping is crazy with him because he always wants to rip off all the tags!
On the way back to Arizona, we stopped in Utah again (thanks Na and Brent for letting us stay!). We went to Temple Square because Jose had read an article in the Ensign about the remodeling of the Tabernacle, and he wanted to see the exhibit about it in the Church Museum of History and Art. It was truly amazing to see the replica of the 9 foot thick roof.

I wanted to get a good family shot of us in front of the temple, but the guy we asked to take the picture was photographically challenged. Here's the shot I took of the temple later. Such a bummer! I've never seen the reflection of light on the temple before from the reflection pool. It was so beautiful.

After Temple Square, Michelle and Sheldon invited us to dinner at their new house. It was so good to see them!!! We had a blast and Clark even played with them...of course he did...they're fun!

Liz and Emma came to dinner too. I love this picture...who has a content child??? Emma is absolutely darling. And Liz of course looks fabulous, having had a baby just 3 months ago! We missed you Bert!

This is the sort of family shot I was looking for at Temple Square (Thanks Michelle!)...anybody know how to cut and paste us into the above photo??? Man, that would be my dream come true!

Well, our trip was eventful, that's for sure! It was a whirlwind...we even stopped at Jacob's Lake and at this bridge on the reservation, somewhere on the way home. A lady said that Clark looked like a jailbird in his striped pjs. I can't help it...love the stripes. Yeah, that and we had another botched family photo there. Hopefully we can get some good ones for Clark's birthday next week!!!!
