I used Steam-A-Seam 2, Double Stick fusible web underneath and then yeah, I just did a super tight zig zag, making sure I didn't pull the fabric at all, so that the machine had plenty of time to get in as many stitches as possible. It was my first time doing it successfully. I could never get the zig zag to work either. I think the key was making sure not to pull the fabric at all. Good luck!
