Easter Pageant

We took Clark to the Mesa Temple Easter Pageant for the first time this year. Jose and I have been numerous times, but it's not exactly fun for toddlers to sit still, way past bedtime—the pageant starts after dark between 7 and 8 pm—for over an hour. But we figured, if Clark can handle decorating Easter eggs, then by golly he can handle the Easter Pageant!
Luckily, he fell asleep in the car on the way over. He had a good 35 minute nap. Perfect! Then, while Jose saved seats, I took him on a walk over to Dairy Queen and we got treats. First pageant, first dipped cone. This has been quite the Easter holiday for our little man!
Clark loved the pageant. He kept asking questions and wondering why those guys were hurting Jesus. He was astonished that they put Him on the cross. And awed when He came back to life. Seeing the Savior's life through the eyes of a child is precious indeed.
And as an added bonus, on Easter Sunday Clark's primary teachers said he's never been so attentive during class. He kept commenting on the pictures of Jesus, and listening about the resurrection. He loves the story and I feel so proud and thankful that he is learning about Jesus.
