Petunias remind me of my mom because she always plants petunias in the yard. I love the way they smell. Yesterday, I took Clark to the "lake" in Power Ranch to feed the ducks (Jose is currently in the throes of AC season and we probably won't see him until September) and there were petunias galore. Sorry, kids, I forgot my camera so no pictures of the actual flowers or the munchkin. But smelling them, the petunias I mean, and the splashy chlorinated pool nearby, got me to thinking about other smells I love. Is it weird that I love the smell of Windex? What about photo processing chemicals? Gasoline? Don't get me wrong, I love the good, wholesome smells too. I'm all about the chocolate chip cookie smell, and the cinnamon roll smell, and the whatever-else-is-baking-in-the-oven smell. But I am realizing that in the summertime especially, I really love the
chemical smells. And Petunias.

BTW, I have another small bag for you. Will you be there on Wednesday? Don't let me forget to give it to you.
