Stone Version of a Dead Sea Scroll

For those of you that don't know, I'm a daily reader of The New York Times. I love their stories and photos and I think that the paper gets a bad rap for being liberal. I'm a conservative and I don't think the Times is liberal (unless your reading their opinion columns, none of which are conservative, so big whoop.)
Anyway, I like to forward some of the article I read to people via email (sorry, I know a lot of people hate forwards), but I think I'll just start posting them to the blog instead.
So, here's the link to the article, I hope you all enjoy!
This article is so cool. Until now, I guess, they haven't had any historical record of a "suffering messiah" that rose after the third day--any pre-Christ record, that is. We do, of course, so it's just funny how in the article they talk about how this is really gonna shake up the Christian community--the idea that the messiah or his suffering was a basic belief of Jewish people before Christ came. It really makes me sad that these guys don't have The Book of Mormon. They'd flip if they recognized it's authenticity and found out that Jewish people knew what would happen to Jesus hundreds of years before his birth! It's just the first article that I've ever read that actually seems to have some understanding of what His atonement means. But it's still just speculative. They haven't got all the pieces of the puzzle, but at least now they can kind of see how His suffering and death is somehow related to redemption. Wow. They are so close to getting it...and yet so far away!

Your blog is so cute. I'm so happy to be in touch again. We'll all get together again soon, I hope!
So do you like the crosswords in the NYT? My husband is fabulous at them! I give up after one word.
