Last Saturday night we went to the annual Ostrich Festival in Chandler. They had all kinds of rides and food and vendors, and Ostrich burgers, which we didn't try because we opted for the Kalabasa instead. Good choice, too; it was delicious.

Here's the picture that I took of Jose and Clark. Okay, I know it's really a lame shot. I was trying to be all artistic and tilt the horizon. But maybe all that stuff I've been saying about my camera really isn't about my camera...maybe it's
me...because...

This is the shot Jose took of Clark and I! It's gorgeous, perfectly framed and terrific composition. I told him it was a fantastic picture and he of course said that he was just trying to use the techniques I told him about. Very sweet.

Here's the only ostrich we actually saw--at the petting zoo. By the time we got there after 6 pm, all the races were over and the ostriches were penned for the night and we couldn't find them! Believe me, we tried!

Here's Clark, looking at all the animals and getting really sleepy. We had him out way past his bedtime, but there was so much going on, he didn't want to miss it. He fell asleep in the car on the way home. It was so nice to do something together as a family, just the three of us. We had a blast.
