The week before Thanksgiving, Clark decided it was his turn to say prayers. And he's been saying them regularly ever since. He always wants to say them by himself, and says them so fast that we can't get a word in edgewise to help correct him. We're just goin' with it. His prayers go something like this, "Dear Heavenly Father, (quick breath) Tankyou (one word) for dis day (quick breath) Tank (quick breath) Eat (quick breath) Name Jesus Christ (dramatic pause) A-MEN!" It's pretty darn cute and usually doesn't vary from the above, but every once in awhile, he'll throw in an extra sentence right before the closing. Like the other day when he said, "Tank Mommy and Daddy go to the temple," which I thought was pretty sweet. And then after he opened his Christmas presents, consisting mostly of Thomas the Tank Engine sets, his prayer that night was, "Dear Heavenly Father, Tankyou dis day. Tank you... make tracks to great destinations. (the tagline in all the Thomas movies) Name Jesus Christ, A-MEN!" Aside from the fact that I had to stuff my mouth with a pillow to muffle the laughing, it was the sweetest thing on the planet. My boy was grateful for his Christmas presents and I couldn't be more tickled about that.
