This magnolia wreath has hung on my door every spring and summer for 3 years. I bring it out at Easter and put it up in October when I get out my fall wreath. This year I was loathe to take it down and procratinated doing so until the week of Halloween. Why? Take a closer look at the hairball in the center.

Yep. It's a nest. This cott'n pick'n fluttery ding bat bird built a nest in
my magnolia wreath early this past spring. And laid several eggs. None of which survived, and the bird left. I think the bird was driven crazy by the unceremonious and constant opening of our front door.

I thought I was rid of the bird until it
came back and laid some
more eggs toward the end of August. This is what is left. I know. They're cute little eggs. But frankly, I was less than excited to clean up the momma's bird poop on my front door. So. I just left the nest in my wreath on the door. Until I simply
had to deal with it.
