Bushman Family Reunion, Fri. July 17th

Morning Hike and Lake Trip

Aunt Bonnie with Rachel, Seth and Kennedy after the hike. Clark and I didn't go on the hike, but settled for shuttling hikers back to their cars. Clark did the funniest thing while we waited though: he tried to kick his shadow off his feet. HYSTERICAL!

Clark got in big trouble several times for throwing dirt at the lake. Stinker.

Kennedy was too cute lovin' on this little dog.

A mighty splash fight ensued out on the canoes. Good times.

Afternoon Watercolor Class

Aunt Bonnie and Rachel taught a watercolor class, which I loved! I put the munchkin down for a long nap and painted my little heart out.

I finished this one at home, but ended up being pretty pleased with it. I'm hoping to make watercolor a more regular thing in my life.

I just played with colors with this one. It wasn't really my favorite, which was good...

because we got home and Clark drew on it with pencil. The little stinker was so proud of himself. He said, "Look Mommy! I drew it!" And I turned around and saw what he was doing and gasped. I watched his happy face fall and so I quickly recovered from my panic attack and told him how very talented he was, which resulted in the return of the happy face. He's my sweet boy!

Evening Program
That night my dad's siblings put on a program celebrating Grandpa's 80th birthday. Each of them talked about memories they had about him and what it was like to grow up in their family. I'm so glad they videoed it because it was amazing. I laughed and cried (no surprise there) through the whole thing. I was particularly touched by the love and admiration that they all have for Grandpa and I hope to be half as loved by my children. He is a good man and a wonderful example to all of us. This is Seth, Rachel's baby. Oh he's a keeper.
