9/11

The Boy Scouts put a flag in my lawn early this morning, before I got out of bed. The flag is to remind me of the federal holidays--important days--that don't just signify a day off of work. This morning, it took me a few minutes to realize why the flag was in my lawn. I had to turn on the radio to figure it out. Then the tears flowed. Today is September 11th.
These images come from the New York Times.

“The day will come,” Mr. Bush said, “when most Americans have no living memory of the events of September the 11th. When they visit this memorial, they will learn that the 21st century began with a great struggle between the forces of freedom and the forces of terror. They will learn that this generation of Americans met its duty — we did not tire, we did not falter, and we did not fail.” Quoted from this New York Times article.
