NOT a whole lot like Disneyland
This is a medieval destist, pulling out the patient's tooth with forceps. Today as I sat in my high-tech destist chair, watching Oprah on the flatscreen, I was suddenly wisked back to medieval times. The novacaine injection on the left side of my mouth had hit the wrong nerve. Instead of making my mouth and tongue numb, my left cheek and eye went numb, causing a sympathetic response from my right eye, which began twitching uncontrollably.
Yeah. Not my finest hour.
Nor was it my dentist's finest hour. I could tell he was concerned, perplexed. This had never happened before in this office. Likened it to Bell's Palsy, he did. Lovely.
After I realized I was not going to die, I had him go ahead and procede with the filling. But it took over 4 hours for the twitching to stop. Finally.
