Family Reunion

Clark and I went to McCall, Idaho last week for my mom's family reunion. We were sad that Jose couldn't take the time from work to go with us, but we sure had fun! The lake is beautiful and it was nice to be outdoors for a little while without scorching ourselves.

The first morning my mom took our family to breakfast at a restaurant that has platter-sized cinnamon rolls. The only downside was that EVERYONE AND THEIR DOG was there having breakfast and we had to wait for 45 minutes, just to be seated. Luckily, they had a children's book library to keep certain individuals occupied during the wait!

That evening we all went down to the lake for a picnic dinner and let the kids run around. Clark had a glorious time and learned to use sticks as pretend guns. Yeah, I'm pretty excited about that one...sigh. He makes the shooting sounds and everything. Goodbye innocent toddlerhood. Anyway, they had a little "talent" show, which as far as I could tell just ended up being my siblings and I singing a Counting Crows song. Oh, and Clark (and the whole family) sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Hopefully next time more cousins will participate! That night, my sis and sister-in-law and I did pedicures and face masks and talked until 3:30 in the morning. Great times, girls.

The next day we rented a couple jet skis and everyone took turns for a few hours riding around. Clark and I stuck to the shore line, though. The water was FREEZING. But Clark had the best time playing in the water! It was so cute. My grandma got a big kick out of him, trying to push back the waves as they rolled in to him.

That night the whole group went out to eat at this "fancy" restaurant in town, right on the water. I say it that way because it was supposed to be really fancy, but the owner served us in his shorts and a t-shirt and we drank our water out of big plastic cups. When I found something in mine, I handed it to him and said, "I think there's something in my water," and he looked in my big bright blue cup and said, "Oh man, you got a bug!" I actually had to ask him to bring me another cup.

The guy actually charged us (thanks for dinner Mom and Dad!) $10 per person just for the view and another $15 a head for our meals, half of which didn't come out right! Highway robbery. I'm sure we'll all be able to laugh about it at the next reunion!

I love this shot of our little family. The lake was sooooo beautiful that evening! We sure missed you, Honey!!! After dinner the kids had a blast running around and just having fun.

Here's my sis, Jenni and our niece, Anna. She is the most precious child. Absolutely adorable and an angel to boot. I am a very lucky aunt to have such darling, terrific nephews and such a sweet girl for a niece.

It was hard to leave. But we were anxious to get home to see Jose and start back up on organizing the new house. Here's a shot of Clark in the condo right before our departure. He had so much fun. Playing with cousins and bonding with Grandma and Grandpa...I think each of them actually got hugs from him this time!!!
